About the book of Hebrews
Is Jesus the ultimate and final truth… or is He just part of something else that is bigger than Him? Is the Law of Moses more important than Jesus? Is Jesus greater than the glorious angels… or greater than Moses… or greater than the temple or the priests or the sacrifices? How much greater? The Book of Hebrews was written to combat the most important issue of its day.
The question that seemed to threaten the very existence of the Church in the first century was this: how does Jesus fit with all the truth of the Old Testament? How does Jesus fit in with Moses, the Law, the temple and all the saints who have gone before? Is Jesus just an ‘addition’ to the Law… or could it be that He is much more than that?
